Cortez’s and Mesa Verde’s histories span over 11,000 years when Native Americans owned the land. And, somehow, much of this history is still preserved in the beautiful national parks these towns still have. It’s worth the stop - especially to see the ancient pueblos!

Boulder is a beautiful, artsy town, nestled in the Colorado mountains. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon, leisurely taking in the sights of Pearl Street, or exploring abandoned areas.
Exploring Winston-Salem, NC
Visiting Winston-Salem is like diving head-first into a time capsule. Both the downtown area, as well as the historic area, are so well-preserved that you feel like a time traveler, going from the 1700s all the way through the 1940s. It’s just that cool.
Exploring Raleigh, NC
Raleigh is a former heavy industrial city-turned “hipster’s paradise” with restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and cocktail bars throughout. It made for a great weekend getaway that we can’t wait to visit again.

I hate western films but love historic western towns! Mesilla and Las Cruces, NM are time capsules rich with vigilante and cowboy history.
Exploring Sedona, AZ
Sedona is what made me move here. There’s something magical, almost supernatural about it, drawing you in every chance it gets. It’s forever my spiritual place.

Nestled between Jerome and Sedona is our favorite little town, Cottonwood. While it doesn’t look like much, it’s filled with mining history, wine tasting rooms, and incredible restaurants.
