Vin Diesel and Tyrese at Fuel Fest 2021
I’ve always been a “car girl” having grown up around parents that loved their fast cars. As proof, I remember seeing the first Fast and the Furious and thinking how cool it would be to go to a real version of Race Wars. There was no way I ever thought that would actually come true, until a week ago.
Fuel Fest is an annual event that is part luxury/custom car show, part drag race, and part drifting competition. It brings together thousands of people from all over. What’s even better, the ticket sales benefit the Paul Walker Foundation, founded by his brother, Cody Walker.
And as if this couldn’t get any more exciting for me, Vin Diesel AND Tyrese Gibson show up on stage live and in person! Rumor has it, Vin Diesel has never attended one of these before.
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
This is such a large event that there are some things I learned about it that will definitely help for next year:
Get the VIP pass - While there’s no telling whether or not Vin will come back next year, you do get access to a bar tent and some exclusive cars, as well as some experiences.
Parking isn’t awful but get there at least by early afternoon for a closer spot.
There are food and drinks, though with the drinks, it’s all beer.
Plan on spending at least 4-5 hours there - Not because there are lines but because there are hundreds of amazing cars, racing events, a DJ, a welcome speech, and so much more. It’s absolutely worth it!
If you need to choose a timeframe and don’t care about parking, plan to get there around noon and stay until early evening.
