Exploring The Mansion on O St., Washington, D.C.

Note: This post has been updated on May 10, 2022.

This past weekend, my adventures took me into a time warp of eclectic decor, nostalgia, and hidden surprises.  Although I had been to the Mansion on O St. once before, my mom had never been, so we had fun getting lost throughout the 100 rooms (it's three homes attached together by 32 hidden doors) in the mansion.

Note: Make sure to go to the basement and open the spice rack - the chefs are used to it).

The first time I ever visited, the girlfriend of the Executive Chef explained, to a group of us, that all of the knick knacks in every room, strike everyone differently. If your hobby and/or interests are around doll collection, that will be the first thing that catches your eye.  If it's books you're into, you will see them everywhere.  For me, it was anything with a little bling attached, and then some totally obscure pieces, too.

My suggestion is to book a guided tour and/or go for brunch as well.  It's a huge spread of food, complete with champagne!  Or, if you have the money, book one of the rooms to stay in!

Tickets can be found here.
